Seth Paul '07 '10

Former Greyhound standout Seth Paul enters his third year as a UIndy assistant coach in 2011.  The Muncie, Ind., native will serve as the outfield coach in 2011 and will continue his work with assisting the Greyhound hitters and catchers.  Paul also has numerous responsibilites off the field, including advanced scouting, assisting with day to day operations of a collegiate baseball program, assisting with recruitment of prospective student athletes, and being the Greyhounds Study Hall coordinator

As a player, Paul had a stellar senior season in 2008 by leading the GLVC in home runs (15) and RBI per game (1.1), with the former being good for the fourth-highest total in school history.  The former Greyhound backstop garnered First Team honors from both the conference and the region, while also receiving Division II All-America Honorable Mention from the National Collegiate Baseball Writers’ Association (NCBWA).

Paul received multiple academic laurers as well, including being named to the 2008 CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District 5 First Team shortly before snagging GLVC Baseball Scholar-Athlete of the Year honors.

In addition to his duties with the team, Paul also serves as the department's Asssistant Director of Operations, handling the hiring and managing of all staff at both home athletic events and in the weight room, as well as overseeing the gates and ticket sales.  Paul works hand-in-hand with Scott Young, Director of Facilities, to stay current with the ever-changing demands of athletic events coordination on a daily basis.

He has also attained four certifications in event safety and management from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and New Mexico Institute of Technology.  The certifications were based around National Incident Management Programs, Multi-Hazard Emergency Planning, and School Safety dealing with Emergency situations, such as bomb threats, shootings, and inclement weather.

Paul earned his undergraduate degree from UIndy in 2007, graduating magna cum laude with a 3.71 grade point average, and later completed a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction in 2010 with a 3.75 GPA.
