Coach Wilson

Brad Wilson

Brad Wilson begins his seventh season on the UIndy staff in 2023. He will start his fourth year at the Offensive Coordinator after previously serving as the Run Game Coordinator. He will also continue to work with the offensive line.

Following a very productive stint at Division III North Central College, Wilson's has enjoyed continued success at UIndy. The Greyhounds have compiled for a 49-11 (.817) record in that span, including four GLVC crowns, four NCAA DII playoff appearances and a playoff win in 2018. UIndy was particularly dominant 2019, topping the GLVC and ranking in the nation's top 10 in a number of offensive categories, including fewest turnovers lost (1st in DII), scoring offense (2nd), time of possession (4th) and team passing efficiency (6th). Team totals of 47.1 points per game, 506.7 total yards of offense per game, 69 total touchdowns and 147 rushing first downs all set new UIndy benchmarks.

Wilson has mentored 20 all-conference o-linemen since 2017, including four All-GLVC honorees in 2022. His position group has opened holes for two of the best running backs in school history in Al McKeller, the program's first two-time Harlon Hill Award candidate, and Toriano Clinton, the program's career and single-season rushing leader.

In 2018, UIndy ranked second in the nation in fewest sacks allowed (0.42 per) and third in third-down conversion rate (.504) on the way to notching just the second postseason win in program history, while the 2017 squad recorded the program’s first undefeated regular season since 1953. The latter team set new team marks for most wins in a season (11) and consecutive wins (15) while leading the nation in fewest sacks allowed (0.5 per game).

Prior to his arrival at UIndy, Wilson was a big part of a very successful 2016 season for NCC. With Wilson as the offensive line coach and strength & conditioning coordinator, the Cardinals ripped off a perfect 10-0 regular season and a College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) title before finally falling in the second round of the DIII playoffs. Wilson’s o-line group, which included All-America Honorable Mention Joe Fehrle, fronted an offense that ranked 25th nationally in scoring.

Wilson also spent time as the o-line coach at Division I Eastern Michigan in 2013 and at DII Fort Lewis College (2010-12) and was earlier a graduate assistant at Ball State (2007-08).

As a student-athlete, Wilson played tight end at Ball State from 2002-06. A native of Muncie, Ind., he received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Ball State University in 2006 and 2010, respectively.
