Graduate Assistant Cody Crawford joined the UIndy staff in 2016 as the Running Backs Coach.
He inherited one of the Hounds’ most prolific ball-carriers a season ago in Andrew Walker, and guided him to a second All-GLVC First Team selection behind a 857-yard, 10-TD effort.
A native of East Lansing, Mich., Crawford spent five years as a student-athlete and coach at Division III Albion College.
Working with the Albion running backs in 2015 – his first season on the sidelines, Crawford helped the Britons rank second in the nation in total offense (560 ygp) and sixth in scoring offense (47 ppg). The team finished 9-2 on the year, winning the MIAA crown and earning an NCAA playoff berth. His running back tandem of Mike Czarnecki and Colin Parks combined for more than 2,400 yards and 28 rushing touchdowns, as both were named all-conference.
As a student-athlete, Crawford was a three-year starter at slot and wide receiver at Albion. He part of two playoff teams as well as two MIAA championship squads. He was also voted a team captain by his teammates his senior year before going on to earn a Bachelor’s in Kinesiology and Commination Studies.
