Kevin Lynch

Wide Receivers Coach Kevin Lynch enters his sixth season on the UIndy staff in 2015.  In addition to working with the receiving corps, Lynch is the team’s recruiting coordinator and also helps with the return aspect of special teams.

Lynch hails from a family rich in NCAA coaching experience.  He is the youngest son of former Ball State and Indiana University head coach Bill Lynch.  The elder Lynch coached three seasons in the Big Ten, leading the Hoosiers to an appearance at the 2007 Insight Bowl.  He is currently the head football coach at DePauw University in Greencastle, Ind.

Kevin’s two brothers, Billy and Joey, are also collegiate football coaches.  Billy works as the wide receiver coach and co-offensive coordinator at Rice University, while Joey is the offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach at Ball State.

A native of Muncie, Ind., Lynch has been an integral part of one of the most successful eras in school history, helping the Greyhounds to 20 wins, two conference championships and two NCAA playoff appearance in the last two years.

Lynch has mentored a number of Greyhound receiver to all-conference status, most recently Reece Horn, the 2014 GLVC Offensive Player of the Year.  Lynch also coached 2012 All-American wide out Mar’Quone Edmonds, who broke nearly every UIndy receiving record as a senior.

With Edmonds in his prime, Lynch helped guide the ‘12 Greyhounds set new UIndy single-season records for wins (10), touchdowns (61), points (461) and total offense (5,518).

In 2011, Lynch coached a pair of all-conference receivers in Edmonds and Ryan Forney.  The duo combined for over 150 receptions and 2,000 yards and helped the Greyhounds rank first in the GLIAC and 17th in the nation in passing yards per game (284.5).

A former all-conference receiver himself, Kevin was a three-year starter at nearby Franklin College.  He helped the Grizzles to back-to-back Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference titles in 2007 and ’08.  Franklin went 11-2 his senior season, setting a new school record for wins.  He caught 52 passes for 612 yards and eight touchdowns that year, helping the squad advance all the way to the NCAA Division III Elite Eight.

Following graduation from Franklin in the spring of 2009, Lynch held the position of Offensive Quality Control Coach at Indiana University for one season.  He worked under Offensive Coordinator Matt Canada while assisting with the weekly game plan, film breakdown and the coordination of the defensive scout team.

Lynch has also worked extensively with the acclaimed Bishop Dullaghan Football Camps since 2005.  He has coordinated wide receivers since 2007, becoming the youngest position coordinator in the 37-year history of the camp.
