Coach Mossbrucker

Kyle Mossbrucker

UIndy alum Kyle Mossbrucker begins his fourth season on the Greyhounds staff in 2014.  In addition to working with the defensive backs, he will handle the duties of defensive self-scout coordinator while helping with special teams and out-of-state recruiting.

In his time as the UIndy DB coach, Coach “Moss” has mentored a number of all-confernece honorees, including John Strickland (2012-13), Koby Orris (2012-13), Andre Smith (2013), Nate Jackson (2011) and Collin Coffer (2011).

After spending his freshman season at Purdue, Mossbrucker spent three seasons as the Hounds’ place kicker.  The Mooresville, Ind., native led UIndy in points scored (62) in 2006 and finished with a career field goal percentage of 70.6, first in the UIndy annals at the time.

Mossbrucker also picked up GLIAC Special Teams Player of the Week honors during the ’06 season after connecting on all three field goal attempts in windy and wet conditions at Saginaw Valley State (10/28/06).

Part of Mooreville High School’s class of 2005, Mossbrucker holds multiple school records at MHS, including most field goals and extra points made, as well as most touchdown passes and completions.  In 2004, he won an Indiana Mr. Football Position Award as the state’s top kicker and was named an IFCA All-Star in 2005.

Mossbrucker graduated from UIndy in 2009 with a B.S. in Business Administration and a minor in Computer Information Science.  In 2009 and 2010, he helped with the quarterbacks and receivers as an assistant coach at Pike High School on the city’s northwest side.  He is a member of both the Indiana Football Coaches Association and the American Football Coaches Association.
