Spencer Crisp

Dayton, Ohio native, Spencer Crisp joined the UIndy staff in 2021 to serve as the running backs coach. A graduate of Taylor University, Crisp wrapped up his coursework at TU in 2019. After graduation Coach Crisp kicked off his college coaching career at Olivet Nazarene University as a Graduate Assistant responsible for the running back unit.

Crisp was the position coach for Toriano Clinton in 2021, mentoring the talented RB to one of the greatest seasons in UIndy football history. Clinton broke both the UIndy single-game and single-season rushing records on the way to earning All-America accolades from the AFCA.

Also during Fall 2021, the running back unit totaled over 2,600 yards on 431 attempts and tallied up 27 touchdowns. The group as a whole averaged over six yard per carry, with Toriano Clinton and Lenny Bennett both averaging north of seven yards per rush.

Prior to his arrival in Indianapolis, Crisp helped ONU to an undefeated regular season and MSFA championship in the 2020-21 season. Led by a pair of all-conference running backs, the Tigers earned a spot in the NAIA playoffs for the first time in over two decades.

Crisp also worked with USA Football in the summer of 2021, helping organize its annual camp and leading running back drills.

As a student-athlete, he was a four-year letterwinner at Taylor, racking up more than 2,000 all-purpose yards and twice earning conference player of the week honors.
