Coach Carter

Todd Carter

Todd Carter was named Assistant Coach in charge of the offensive line in spring 2008.  Carter, a former letterwinner at DePauw University, returns to central Indiana after spending the last three seasons at Saginaw Valley State University.

Carter was part of an SVSU team that reached the NCAA Division II Northwest Region finals in 2005 after a one-loss regular-season campaign and the only two losses of the year coming to eventual-national champion Grand Valley State.  The Cards finished ranked No. 2 in the nation that season.

At SVSU, Carter was in charge of the offenisve line and was the team's run game coordinator.  Carter came to SVSU from North Park University in Chicago, Ill. where he served as defensive coordinator and secondary coach from June 2003 to March 2005. Carter was involved in many aspects of the program including recruiting and special teams. At North Park, Carter was also the equipment manager and was responsible for travel plans.

Prior to his stint at North Park, Carter served for two years at Carroll College in Waukesha, Wis. as the offensive line coach and also served as the head men and women's track and field coach.  He worked as a graduate assistant coach at the University of Connecticut from June 2000 to April 2001 and also at his alma mater DePauw University in Greencastle, Ind. from 1998-2000.

Carter received his bachelor's degree in history with a minor in physical education and secondary education from DePauw in 1998. He received his master's degree in secondary education from Indiana State University in 2002. Carter was a four-year varsity letterman and a two-year starter at center and tackle at DePauw. He was named the team captain and named all-conference at center in 1997.
