Trent Mossbrucker

Trent Mossbrucker enters his first season on the football staff in 2014.  The former Big Ten football player will work as the assistant linebackers coach with the Hounds.

The younger brother of fellow-UIndy-assistant Kyle Mossbrucker, Trent played college ball at Iowa, spending 2008-12 with the Hawkeyes.  In 2008, he set the school record for most points scored by a freshman (70) while leading the Big Ten in field goal percentage (.867).  He was on the roster for four bowl games, including the 2010 Orange Bowl.

Mossbrucker earned a bachelor’s degree in both Communications and History from Iowa in 2012.  He moved on to a graduate assistant position at St. Lawrence University in N.Y., where he worked with the secondary and special teams during the 2013-14 academic year.

As a senior at nearby Mooresville High School, Mossbrucker won the Indiana Mr. Football Position Award as a standout place kicker.  He is a member of the American Football Coaches Association.
