Tyler Bless

After getting his coaching start at Division III Defiance College in 2013, Tyler Bless enters season No. 2 on the UIndy bench in 2015.  Bless will again work with the UIndy running backs after working with the slot receiviers at DC.

A native of nearby Mooresville, Ind., Bless was a three-year letter winner at Franklin College. While at FC, Bless was a part of three consecutive Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships before graduating in 2013 with a bachelor’s degree in Health Science.

Tyler is honored to be a third-generation member of the UIndy football family.  Both his father (Mark) and grandfather (Bill) are inductees of the UIndy Athletics Hall of Fame.  A longtime high school football coach, Mark was an All-American and four-year letterwinner on the UIndy football team, while Bill is the winningest football coach in Greyhound history, compiling a 114-99-9 recond in 22 seasons at the helm.

Meanwhile, Tyler’s uncles, Scott and Tim Bless, were also graduates from UIndy.  Brothers Mark, Scott and Tim all played four years of football for their father, Bill.

Tyler, who in turn played high school ball for his dad Mark, is a 2009 graduate of nearby Mooresville High School where he was named an all-state punter by the Indiana Football Coaches Association.  He is currently a member of the American Football Coaches Association.
