After graduating from the UIndy athletic training program in May of 2017, Deandre Grayson made his return to campus as an Assistant Athletic Trainer in January 2018, helping with indoor/outdoor track & field. Born and raised in Indianapolis, Deandre attended Crispus Attucks Medical Magnet High School, where he was an aspiring athletic training student and made the decision to further his education close to home at the University of Indianapolis.
As a student, Deandre gained experience working with several UIndy programs, including football, m/w soccer, basketball, wrestling and track & field. In addition to on-campus experience, he also assisted at several off-campus sites, including nearby Butler University of the local high schools of Warren Central, Heritage Christian, Beech Grove and Avon.
After graduating from UIndy, Deandre joined Community Health Network as a PRN athletic trainer assisting local high schools and middle schools such as Perry Meridian. In addition, he has continued his education by becoming a certified personal trainer (CPT) and corrective exercise specialist (CES) through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) and is currently completing his diploma of sports and medical massage at the Indiana Massage College.
During the 2018-19 season, Deandre will be assisting the UIndy men’s soccer and baseball teams.
