Graduate Assistant Portia Jones is in her first season on the Greyhound coaching staff. Along with on-court instruction, Jones handles the team's travel arrangements, organizes community service activities, and helps with equipment management.
A native of Savannah, Ga., Jones obtained a B.S. in Psychology at Armstong Atlantic State University in 2010 after playing three seasons for the Lady Pirates. She averaged 12.4 points and 5.8 rebounds per game as a senior on the way to winning the team's Best Offensive Player Award. The two-time Peach Belt Conference All-Academic Team honoree sank 98 career 3-pointers at AASU, good for seventh on the school's all-time list.
Jones is a student affliate member of both the American Psychology Association and the Black Psychologists of America. She is currently working towards a Masters in Clinical Psychology.
