A D-I volleyball alum herself, Alyssa Zirnheld comes to the Circle City by way of Mercyhurst University and a four-year career as a Laker. The 2020 campaign will be her first on the Greyhound bench.
Zirnheld started 58 of the 101 matches played at Mercyhurst, racking up 753 kills over 335 sets. A versatile outsider hitter, Zirnheld also scooped up 550 digs, while adding 76 service aces. Over her final two seasons as a Laker, Zirnheld totaled nine double-doubles and ranked second on the team in kills.
Prior to Mercyhurst, Zirnheld was a standout at Saint Mary's in Cheektowaga, NY, where she was twice named First Team All-Catholic.
