Kelsey Hoefer

Kelsey Hoefer is in her second season as an assistant coach for the Greyhounds after a successful playing career at Towson and IUPUI.

She helped the 2013 squad finish 25-10 (15-3 GLVC), marking the program's 10th 25-win season. The Hounds won their fourth-ever GLVC Tournament, and also earned their seventh consecutive NCAA Tournament berth.

Hoefer helped lead a 2013 squad that featured two All-Americans in Meghan Binkerd (AVCA second team, Daktronics Honorable Mention) and Brittany Anglemyer (AVCA third team), and four All-GLVC athletes in Binkerd (first team), Anglemyer (second), Kenzie Bruggeman (second) and Hailey Brown (second).

Prior to UIndy, she spent two seasons (2011-12) at IUPUI where the outside hitter played in 63 matches with 59 starting assignments. She led the Jaguars to the Summit League regular season championship in 2012 where she was third on the team with 2.77 kills per set hitting .260. The team captain helped IUPUI earn the AVCA Team Academic Award. She was named to all-tournament team at the IUPUI Hampton Inn Invitational and Western Kentucky Invitational.

She made the Academic All-Summit League Team as a junior when IUPUI earned the AVCA Team Academic Award. She was named Summit League Offensive Player of the Week on Nov. 4 as she ranked 10th in the conference with 2.82 kills per set. In Summit League play, Hoefer was sixth in the conference with 3.12 kills per set and eighth in attack percentage (.257).

She spent her first two seasons (2009-10) in Maryland at Towson where she was a Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Scholar Athlete Award winner and made the Marriott Cavalier Classic All-Tournament Team.

Over the course of her four seasons, Hoefer compiled 934 kills on a .228 attack percentage and 226 total blocks.

Hoefer has served as an assistant coach for Team Indiana, while also working the Virginia Tech volleyball camps and Highland Community College basketball camps. She also spent time working with the Indiana Sports Corporation and Career Athletes.

The Freeport, Ill., native graduated from Indiana University at Indianapolis in the spring of 2013 with a bachelor of arts in general studies, social and behavioral sciences, in addition to a minor in business. Hoefer was named to the IUPUI Academic Advisors List all four semesters on campus.
