UIndy 6, SJC 0 (13 innings)
UIndy 10, SJC 1 (6 innings)

RENSSELAER, Ind.- UIndy clinched its spot in the upcoming GLVC Tournament with its two-game sweep of Saint Joseph's Saturday. The Greyhounds claimed a 6-0 win in 13 innings in game one before run-ruling the Pumas (26-16, 12-8) with a 10-1 decision in game two of the day. UIndy (27-13, 16-4) also took sole possession of second place in the conference with the wins.

GAME 1
It took some time for the Greyhound bats to come alive in the first game of the day, but UIndy managed to plate six runs in the top of the 13th inning to take the 6-0 win.

Brooke Johnson started the inning with a lead-off walk, and Jenny Swanson followed with a walk of her own. Carmen Martinez loaded the bases with a single to centerfield, and all three runs came home on a basehit up the middle from Lindsey Gustine. Still with no outs on the board, Gustine came in on a passed ball. Jamie Keltz kept the rally going with a single to left, and was hit in by a triple to right center from Maggie Swanson, who would be walked in by the Puma pitcher.

Megan Russell took the win, tossing all 13 innings of the marathon contest. Russell (13-5) struck out 19, walked just one and scattered eight SJC hits in the shutout effort, her seventh of the season. Keltz was the lone Greyhound with more than one hit, posting a 2-for-6 effort at the plate.

GAME 2
The Greyhounds kept the runs coming in game two of the day, disposing of the Pumas in six innings with a 10-1 score. UIndy started the game with nine straight hits en route to jumping out to a 7-0 lead in the first inning. Every UIndy batter hit safely in the inning, with singles up and down the lineup, except for a double from Johnson. Russell, Ashley Boxley, Johnson, Chrissy Stephens and Gustine (pictured) all picking up RBIs in the inning.

Saint Joseph's picked up one run in the bottom of the frame, snapping a streak of 47 consecutive innings of shutout ball by the UIndy squad. The Pumas pushed their score in on a double, a wild pitch and a sacrifice fly.

UIndy added one more run in the top of the fifth, on a solo homerun from Jenny Swanson. The Greyhounds sealed the win with the run-rule with a pair of scores in the sixth inning. Keltz singled to left to start things off, and came home on a double from Maggie Swanson a batter later. Russell followed with a double of her own to score Maggie Swanson for the 10th UIndy run.

Amanda Wendlinger took the game two win, running her record to 9-4 on the year. The senior struck out five and walked one in her six innings in the circle. Boxley had the first three-hit game of her Greyhound career, going 3-for-4 at the plate with an RBI.

Now the second place team in the GLVC, UIndy heads to Findlay for a non-conference doubleheader with the Oilers Thursday, before returning to GLVC play at Kentucky Wesleyan Saturday.

NOTES: Prior to SJC's one-run first inning in game two, UIndy had not allowed a run in its previous 47 innings of play. The last run before today allowed by the Greyhounds came in the seventh inning in game two against Quincy Apr.5.
