OWENSBORO, Ky.- Both the UIndy men's and women's cross country squads took second as a team in their races at Kentucky Wesleyan's Fast Cats Classic Saturday.

For the Greyhound women, Stephanie Cave and Sutton Knapp finished sixth and seventh to lead the squad. Cave covered the 5K course in 18:58.17, with Knapp coming in just less than a second later. Haley Wittig finished just outside the top 10, with her time of 19:13.59 putting her in 11th place overall in the 107-woman field.

As a team, the Greyhounds took second of 13 teams. Southern Indiana took the team title at the event.

The UIndy men were led by an eighth-place showing from Jake Fisher, who covered the 8K course in 27:01.68. Sean O'Brien was the second-highest finishing Greyhound, coming in 13th overall with a time of 27:14.74.

UIndy's men's team also took second, in an 11-team field. Austin Peay took the men's team title at the race.

The Greyhounds will now gear up for the 2011 GLVC Cross Country Championships Saturday, Oct. 22 in Evansville, Ind.
