EVANSVILLE, Ind.- The UIndy men's cross country team took fifth of 13 teams and the women's squad took sixth of 13 at the 2011 GLVC Cross Country Championships Saturday.

Mark Martinez led the Greyhound men, finishing in 17th with a time of 25:35.2. Alex Cushman came in 24th for UIndy with a time of 25:53.7, with Sean O'Brien taking 25th with a finish of 25:54.7.

The Greyhound women were led by Stephanie Cave, who traversed the 6K course in 22:59.8, good for 18th overall. Haley Wittig finished in 23rd with a time of 23:07.3.

Southern Indiana won the men's 8K event, with Bellarmine taking second. The Screaming Eagles' Brendan Devine took top individual honors in the race. Host Southern Indiana also won the women's event, with the Knights taking second. Jackie Henderson of USI won the women's race.
