CRAWFORDSVILLE, Ind.- The Greyhound track and field squads opened 2012 at the Wabash Little Giant Invitational, with the men's team coming away with a pair of provisional marks and one automatic qualifying mark, while the women's 4x400 relay posted a new meet record.

Matt Royer posted an NCAA automatic qualifying mark with his 20.98 meter (68-10.00) toss to win the men's weight throw. The UIndy women were led by the 4x400 meter relay squad, which posted a new meet record with a time of 4:01.67, besting the previous record also held by a Greyhound squad. The team of Jordan VanDyke, LaTisha Martin, Haley Miller, Lauren Rascoe is officially the new recordholder of the Little Giant Invitational.

A pair of Greyhound women took first and second in the mile run, with Haley Wittig crossing in 5:31.79 for first, with Sutton Knapp taking second with a time of 5:39.21. Camille Edwards took another first-place finish for UIndy, posting a time of 9.03 in the 60-meter hurdles.

Four Greyhounds topped the women's shot put, led by Carlynn Carter with a toss of 12.51 meters.
