INDIANAPOLIS- The UIndy football team (4-2, 4-0) pushed its win streak to four with a 56-0 rout of visiting Saint Joseph's (3-3, 2-1) Saturday night.  A homecoming crowd of 5,839 witnessed the outcome that left the Greyhounds as the Great Lake Valley Conference's lone undefeated team in league play.

The Hounds amassed 601 total yards of offense, with 377 coming on the ground.  Both Klay Fiechter and Matt Ripp went over 100 yards rushing in the contest, with Ripp's total of 126 good for a career high.

As he has done all season, Fiechter led the way with 241 all-purpose yards.  The junior running back had seven gains of 10 yards or more, including a 62-yard touchdown catch on the team's first play from scrimmage.

Junior Chris Mills quarterbacked an offense that committed zero turnovers.  The Lafayette, Ind., native completed each of his first 12 pass attempts before finishing an efficient 17-for-19 or 218 yards and four touchdowns.

On a night that the outcome never seemed in doubt, it took barely eight minutes for the Hounds to build a three touchdown advantage.  The first three UIndy drives combined took less than three minutes of game time, as all three ended with touchdowns of at least 29 yards.

By the time the first half expired, UIndy had opened up an insurmountable 49-0 lead.  The Hounds scored touchdowns on seven of their eight first-half possessions, with the only punt coming midway through the second quarter.

UIndy opened the second half with its most methodical drive of the night.  The 14-play series chewed up seven minutes of clock before Ripp punched it in from two yards out.

Though the Hounds would not score again, the UIndy defense completed its first shutout since the 2011 opener.  SJC was limited to just 140 total yards, including just 83 yards through the air despite trailing the entire game.

UIndy looks to continue its winning streak with another home next Saturday.  The Greyhounds host GLVC-associate-member Central State in a six o'clock kick.

Notes: Five of UIndy's eight TDs came from at least 29 yards out ... the Hounds' defense has forced six turnovers in the last two games ... UIndy is averaging a GLVC-best 44.7 points per game in league play ... Fiechter's rushing average of 134.0 yards per game is on pace to set a new school record (Craig Jenkins, 120.4 ypg, 2008) ... Daniel Meyer received each of the team's final 10 carries and finsihed with a personal-best 53 rushing yards ... Mar'quone Edmonds needs three catches to set the program record for most career receptions.
