Cushman Advances to NCAA Division II National Championship

- Alex Cushman advanced to the 2013 NCAA Division II National Championships, by virtue of his overall third place finish at the 2013 NCAA Division II Cross Country Midwest Regional, hosted by Wisconsin-Parkside Saturday at the Wayne E. Dannehl Cross Country Course.

Cushman led the men with a third overall finish with a time of 31.21. He advances to become just the second male in program history to represent UIndy as an individual at the NCAA Division II National Championships, which will be held this year in Spokane, Wash. Nov. 23. The 2000 men's team was the last to make the national meet, while Chris Johnson was the last Greyhound to run as an individual in 1991. Craig Jordan finished 22nd with a time of 32:14, and earned All-Region honors with his finish. Overall, the UIndy men's team finished tenth out of 29 teams at the event.

The women's team came in 12th out of 27 total teams and was led by Jacklyn Howland with a time of 22:46 and a place of 39. Sutton Knapp followed closely behind with a 43rd place finish and time of 22:51.
