ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – The UIndy softball team was saddled with its first two-game losing streak of the season this week after Lewis University sophomore Kelly Bowler fired a no-hitter in Saturday's first game.  But after falling 2-0 to the host Flyers in the opener, the No. 1-ranked Greyhounds (46-4, 26-2 GLVC) bounced back with three home runs on the way to a 7-3 victory in game two.

GAME ONE
Bowler compiled three walks and a wild pitch while having the pitch around four Lewis errors, but still managed to hold the Greyhounds off the scoreboard for the first time in nearly a year.  The Hounds were last shut out in last season's NCAA regional – a 2-0 lost to Northern Kentucky May 5.

Sophomore Casey Williamson, who finished with a pair of walks, a stolen base and an outfield assist, was the only Greyhound to safely reach third base.

In addition, senior Jennifer DeMotte (22-1) picked up her first pitching loss of the season after allowing two runs (one earned) in five-plus innings of work.

GAME TWO

In her first at bat of the capper, Russell left no doubt in the scoring decision when she belted a solo homer over the left-center wall.  She later cranked a three-run bomb in the fifth inning for her fifth home run in the last eight days.

Senior Bailey Wittenauer also had a three-run dinger, as she followed walks by DeMotte and Alexa Alfaro with an opposite-field shot.

Wittenauer, Williamson and Russell all sport double-digit home run totals, marking the first time ever that three Greyhounds hit 10 or more homers in the same season.

Freshman Morgan Foley (24-3) picked up the win in the circle.  The Louisville, Ky., native fanned 10 batters and walked none in the complete-game effort.

UIndy will wrap up the regular season tomorrow when they head to Wisconsin-Parkside for a doubleheader versus the Rangers.  First pitch is slated for 1 p.m. Eastern.
