QUINCY, Ill.- Despite outshooting the top team in the Great Lakes Valley Conference standings, UIndy left Quincy Friday night with a 1-0 loss.
Mirroring the double-overtime women's match, neither UIndy (5-4-2; 5-3-1 GLVC) or #11 Quincy (11-0-1; 8-0-1 GLVC) could find the back of the net through the first 79 minutes. The GLVC-leading Hawks notched the eventual game-winner just past the 79-minute mark, with Ethan Venvertloh's fourthgoalf othe year, assisted by Jordan Roberts.
The Greyhounds out-shot Quincy 14-8 in the match, with
Julian Shamsaie and
Patrick O'Brien each taking three shots on the night, while
Zak Mitiche, O'Brien and
Ngwese Ebangwese all recorded a shot on goal.
Andrew Verhonik was assessed the loss in goal, making no saves in facing the eight Hawk shots in 90 minutes of work.
UIndy heads to Truman State to close out the weekend Sunday. First kick from Kirksville, Mo. versus the Bulldogs is set for 3:30 p.m. EST.
