game notesON TAPThe Greyhounds look for their fifth straight win when they travel to Truman State University to battle the Bulldogs. Kickoff is scheduled for 2 p.m. ET.
ABOUT TRUMANThe Bulldogs endured their first conference loss of the season last week, falling
21-17 at home to William Jewell. Truman led 17-0 at the half, but the Cardinals ran off 21 unanswered points after the break to hang a Homecoming loss on the 'Dogs.
Truman is second only to UIndy in the GLVC in both scoring defense (16.5 ppg) and total defense (312.8 ypg). Individually, senior running back Garrett White averages 121.7 rushing yards per contest, good for second in the conference and 17th in Division II.
Led by head coach Gregg Nesbitt, Truman finished with a 7-4 overall mark last season, with its 5-2 GLVC record good for a share of second in the league standings.
HOUNDS vs. BULLDOGSThe teams' only previous meeting was an exciting one, as the Greyhounds pulled out a
21-14 win in the 2013 regular-season finale to clinch the GLVC title outright. Ranked 11th in the D-II coaches' poll at the time, the Hounds broke a late tie with a three-yard touchdown from senior
Klay Fiechter with just 1:03 left. The game-winning TD capped a 10-play, 57-yard drive that ate nearly five minutes of the fourth-quarter clock. Truman got the ball back with just over a minute to go, but an interception by linebacker
Rob Dury sealed the win.
UIndy's other scores were both TD passes by
Connor Barthel – a 44-yard catch-and-run by
Greg Johnson late in the second quarter and a six-yard toss to
Reece Horn early in the fourth.

LAST WEEKUIndy orchestrated a convincing
52-7 all-around win versus visiting McKendree last Saturday. On its way to a season-high 556 total yards, the UIndy offense featured a 300-yard passer (Barthel), a 100-yard rusher (
Matt Ripp) and a 100-yard receiver (Horn) for the first time since Nov. 1, 2003 – a 35-24 win at Ashland.
Defensively, the Hounds limited the Bearcats to just 186 yards, including a paltry 113 yards through air. The Greyhound d-line combined for four sacks on the night, as
Lee Campbell (1.5 sacks),
Tommy Taylor (1.0),
Russell Collins (1.0) and
Dillon Dallas (0.5) all got to the quarterback.
NO PUNT INTENDEDUIndy was so effective moving the ball versus McKendree last week that its punt team was not called upon even one time. The Hounds amassed a whopping 28 first downs on the night while facing just seven 3rd-down situations. The last time the Hounds went an entire game without punting came Nov. 3, 2007 in a 43-37 come-from-behind win at Mercyhurst.
GRAB THE BALL BY THE HORNJunior wideout
Reece Horn is racking up receiving numbers at an impressive rate. The Carmel, Ind., native has grabbed eight TD passes in the last three weeks and has back-to-back games of at least 175 receiving yards.
His season totals of 10 receiving TDs and 697 receiving yards rank second and eighth, respectively, in Division II, despite that fact that he missed three quarters of the Saint Xavier game due to injury.
Horn enters the week 179 yards shy of becoming just the seventh Greyhound to reach 2,000 career receiving yards.
MILLER TIMEUIndy's all-time leading scorer is zeroing in a 300 career points. Senior kicker
Scott Miller, who set the school's career scoring mark at Quincy two weeks ago, enters play with 292 points to his credit. He also needs just two field goals to match Nick Parker's school-record 43 career field goals made, set back in 2005.
Not only is Miller UIndy's most prolific scorer, but the Indianapolis native leads all active Division II kickers in both career points scored and career field goals made.
FIRST TIMERSWhile the veteran Miller continues to rack up points for the Hounds, a number of younger guys are also getting in on the act. A half dozen Greyhounds have already scored their first collegiate points this season, including
Andrew Walker (4 rushing TDs),
Tuwan Payton (1 kickoff return TD),
Alex Kimack (1 TD reception),
Matt Sinclair (1 TD reception) and
Brad Schickel (2 extra points).
PRESSURE POINTThe Greyhound defense has really turned up the pressure of late, totaling nine sacks in the last two games combined, with junior captain
Lee Campbell accounting for four of them. Overall, UIndy has 14 sacks this season for a total loss of 86 yards.
Conversely, the Hounds' offense has surrendered just one sack all year, putting them second only to "sackless" Lenior-Rhyne among all Division II teams.
POLL POSITIONFollowing the week-two loss at Saint Xavier, the Greyhounds snapped a streak of 18 consecutive appearances in the
AFCA Division II Top 25 Poll. UIndy first broke into the weekly poll Nov. 5, 2012, and did not drop out until Sep. 15, 2014.
The Hounds have received votes in each of the last five editions, however. Meanwhile, they remained among the top 25 in the
D2Football.com media poll, moving up three spots to No. 21 this week. See below for UIndy's AFCA poll history.

GLVC GIANTVoted as the preseason favorite to win a third consecutive GLVC title, UIndy is a perfect 18-0 in league play since the conference began sponsoring the sport in 2012. Last year, UIndy finished 7-0 versus GLVC opponents, holding off a trio of contenders at 5-2; Missouri S&T, Saint Joseph's and GLVC-newcomer Truman all finished tied for second. After a convincing 34-3 victory against S&T in the conference opener, the Hounds needed fourth-quarter scores to secure wins versus both SJC and Truman.
