AURORA, Ill. – Just hours after surrendering a come-from-behind victory to Hillsdale earlier this afternoon, the UIndy volleyball squad attempted a comeback of their own in the final match of the 2014 Mizuno GLVC/GLIAC Crossover.
Down 2-0 to Findlay, the Greyhounds (11-8, 9-2 GLVC) stormed back to win the third and fourth sets. The Oilers (13-6, 8-3 GLIAC) responded in a hard-fought fifth set, winning it 16-14 to take the match 3-2 (27-25, 25-22, 21-25, 18-25, 16-14).

Arielle Knafel led UIndy with 15 kills and 9 digs. Freshman
Olivia Current – playing in place for an injured
Julia Watkins – turned in the best collegiate performance of her young career. She totaled 12 kills, hitting .348 (12-4-23) while adding 6 block assists.
Hailey Brown added 13 kills, finishing the Crossover with 47 (3.35 kills per set), and 17 digs.
Meghan Binkerd totaled 53 assists and 10 digs, good for her 12th double-double of the year.
Kimberly Trojan finished with 14 digs, and freshman
Kacee Salyers had 13 digs and 7 kills.
Becca Lira hit .333, tallying 8 kills and 3 errors on 15 swings.
The GLVC defeated the GLIAC 37 matches to 11 at the seventh annual Crossover Tournament.
The Greyhounds won't get much time off, as they host regional foe Cedarville Tuesday night at 7 p.m. for their Dig Pink Match.
