ON TAP
The Greyhounds look for their sixth straight win in a Homecoming match-up versus GLVC-newcomer Lincoln University Saturday at 6 p.m.

HOUNDS ON TV
This season, UIndy's home football games will be shown prominently on both local and national television.  The Hounds' first three home dates (9/27 vs. Hillsdale, 10/11 vs. McKendree and 10/25 vs. Lincoln) will be produced by WebStream Sports and aired on WRTV 6.2 HTSN, the RTV6 app and online at theindychannel.com.  Also, replays of the games will be shown on HTSN at 10 p.m. on game day and at 2 p.m. the following Sunday.  Click here to find where to tune into HTSN in your area.

In addition, the Greyhounds and the GLVC will receive some national attention Thursday, Oct. 30 as their match-up with in-state rival Saint Joseph's has been chosen as the CBS Sports Network NCAA Division II Game of the Week.

ABOUT LINCOLN
Lincoln is one of two associate members to join the GLVC as football-only competitors this season – the other being Southwest Baptist. Both Lincoln and SBU migrated over from the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA) as part of a Strategic Conference Football Scheduling Alliance between the GLVC and the MIAA. Though each school will remain full active members of the MIAA in all other sports, the four-year agreement will provide scheduling stability and non-conference flexibility for both conferences in the sport of football.

Coming in with a 2-5 record, the Blue Tigers are guided by fourth-year head coach Mike Jones.  A 12-year veteran of the NFL, the former linebacker played with three teams at sport's highest level.  He is best known for making one of the most famous tackles in NFL history, as his goal-line stop of Tennessee's Kevin Dyson on the final play of Super Bowl XXXIV ensured the St. Louis Rams of their first NFL championship since 1951.

The Blue Tigers rank third in the GLVC in scoring offense (32.3 ppg) and second in punting average (36.8 ypp).  However, they rank 160th out of 167 Division II teams in fewest penalty yards per game (99.3 ypg).

Individually, senior running back Morris Henderson tops the conference in touchdowns with 16 and ranks second in rushing average at 115.1 yards per game.

HOUNDS vs. BLUE TIGERS
Though its been 31 years since they first met, the Greyhounds won the only previous clash with Lincoln, 40-19.  On Sep. 10, 1983, UIndy, then called Indiana Central University, held the Blue Tigers scoreless for three quarters before coasting to the win in front of 2,500 Key Stadium fans.  Playing in that game was All-America defensive tackle and future UIndy Hall of Famer Mark Bless, father of current UIndy assistant coach Tyler Bless.  Tyler's grandfather, Bill - another UIndy Hall of Fame inductee, was the head coach.

HOMECOMING SUCCESS
UIndy has won each of its last three Homecoming contests, winning by an average score of 45-10.  Its last Homecoming loss came in 2010 in a 31-24 final against Northwood.  The Hounds are 9-1 on Homecoming dates since 2004.

LAST WEEK
The Greyhounds came back from a 14-point fourth-quarter deficit to earn a 23-20 win at Truman last week.  UIndy overcame five turnovers with 509 total yards of offense to slip past the Bulldogs in the final quarter for the second straight season.

TWO-BACK ATTACK
Matt Ripp and Andrew Walker combined for a gaudy 338 rushing yards in the win at Truman.  Each set a new personal high, with Ripp going for 186 yards and Walker 152.

It marked the second time this season that the two each surpassed 100 rushing yards in the same game.  They are the first UIndy tandem to turn the trick twice in the same season since single-game stats became available in 1983.  Versus Southwest Baptist in week 3, Walker rushed for 117 yards while Ripp went for 102.

GLVC PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Ripp was voted the GLVC Offensive Payer of the Week for his efforts.  The Fishers, Ind., product averaged 8.1 yards on 23 carries versus Truman and went on to finish with 11 first downs on the day, two more than the Bulldogs managed as a team.

Ripp accounted for the longest play from scrimmage by a Greyhound this season with a 70-yard game-tying touchdown run in the fourth quarter.

The honor was Ripp's first GLVC Player of the Week award of his career and fourth for a Hound this season.  He enters the weekend 86 rushing yards shy of 2,000 for his career.

U-TURN
The Greyhounds' comeback win at Truman overshadowed their struggles earlier in the game.  UIndy committed a season-high five turnovers on the day, including four in the first half alone.  The total represented the most giveaways by a Greyhound team since Oct. 20, 2007 – a 34-28 home loss to Wayne State.  Prior to Saturday, UIndy had been 0-5 since 2002* when committing five or more turnovers.

INDY 300
Last week, senior kicker Scott Miller became the first-ever Greyhound to surpass 300 career points.  The Indianapolis native scored 11 points at Truman (3 FG, 2 PAT), upping his career total to a school-record 303.  His game-winning 31-yard field goal gave him 44 FGs for his career, breaking Nick Parker's former school-record of 43.

YOU COMPLETE ME
Junior quarterback Connor Barthel has compiled an impressive .673 career completion percentage, good for the fourth-highest total among all active Division II players**.  Barthel is currently UIndy's all-time leader in both completion percentage and passing efficiency (154.1).

In addition, Barthel's first completion at Truman made him the 11th Greyhound to pass for more than 3,000 career yards.  He needs just 39 yards this week to pass UIndy Hall of Famer Dick Schrier (1952-55) for 10th in the program annals.
** minimum 350 passing attempts

HOMELAND SECURITY
Head Coach Bob Bartolomeo's Greyhounds have compiled a stellar 22-4 (.846) record at Key Stadium since he took over in 2010, including a combined 14-1 (.933) mark since the start of the 2012 season.

Last year's first-round playoff loss to No. 19 West Texas A&M snapped a 12-game home winning streak – the longest since Key Stadium was built in 1970.  UIndy has not lost a regular season game at home since falling to eventual national runner-up Wayne State in the 2011 home finale.

REGIONAL CONCERNS
With the release of the year's initial regional rankings scheduled for Monday, below is a quick look at some of the marque match-ups in Super Region 4 this week.

6 Ferris State (7-0) at 13 Michigan Tech (6-0)
11 Colorado Schools of Mines (7-0) at 12 Colorado State-Pueblo (6-1)
22 Texas A&M-Commerce (6-1) at Midwestern State (4-2)
16 Ohio Dominican (6-1) at Northwood (4-3)

GLVC GIANT
Voted as the preseason favorite to win a third consecutive GLVC title, UIndy is a perfect 19-0 in league play since the conference began sponsoring the sport in 2012.  The Hounds are currently tied with William Jewell atop the GLVC standings as both are 4-0 in league play.

Last year, the Hounds finished 7-0 versus conference opponents, holding off a trio of contenders at 5-2; Missouri S&T, Saint Joseph's and Truman all finished tied for second.

POLL POSITION
Following the week-two loss at Saint Xavier, the Greyhounds snapped a streak of 18 consecutive appearances in the AFCA Division II Top 25 Poll.  UIndy first broke into the weekly poll Nov. 5,  2012, and did not drop out until Sep. 15, 2014.

The Hounds have received votes in each of the last six editions, however.  Meanwhile, they remained among the top 25 in the D2Football.com media poll, moving up three spots to No. 18 this week.   See below for UIndy's AFCA poll history.
