LEBANON, Ill.- Greyhound men's soccer won its second straight in Great Lakes Valley Conference action Friday, taking a 2-1 win from the Bearcats of McKendree.
McKendree (1-5-1; 1-4-1 GLVC) scored just nine minutes into the match, with Connor Cassidy giving the home team the early lead on his first goal of the year. The Greyhounds (2-3-2; 2-2-1 GLVC) knotted the match at 1-1 just after the 39-minute mark, with
Ngwese Ebangwese's second goal of the year. Wahsay found the back of the net from about 12 yards out off of a free kick by
Patrick O'Brien.
After heading in for the halftime break still tied at 1-1, UIndy was able to tally the gam winner with about 23 minutes to play in the match on
Daniel Wellmann's second score of the year.
Wellmann's seven shots led UIndy, with the Greyhounds totaling 21 shots in the match to McKendree's 11.
Andrew Verhonik made a pair of saves in allowing the lone Bearcat goal.
The Greyhounds close out the weekend swing at Bellarmine Sunday. First kick is slated for 3:30 p.m. EST from Louisville.
