KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The University of Indianapolis men's soccer team opened up their final road trip of the regular season on Friday night, taking on the top team in the GLVC, #14 Rockhurst University under the lights in Kansas City.

Down by a pair at the half, the Greyhounds rallied to even up the score midway through the second half. But the host Hawks would find the go-ahead goal early in the extra session to earn a 3-2 win and hand the Hounds their first road loss of the year (4-1-2).
GAME CHANGERLess than two minutes into extra time, Rockhurst's Mitch Moncanda tucked a shot from 12 yards out inside the left post to give the home squad the win on their only shot of overtime.

BEYOND THE BOX SCOREUIndy cut the Hawks' lead in half in the 60
th minute when
Zak Mitiche took a
Josh Ling feed and let a shot go from the top of the box that banked in off the right post and into the net for the senior's second goal of the year.

Senior
Brendon Widau drew the Hounds even in the 73
rd minute with his first goal of the year. On their third consecutive corner kick, sophomore
David Kurz lobbed a ball into the box that Widau deflected with his head into the back of the net. The helper gives Kurz a team-high three on the year.

Rockhurst got goals less than 10 minutes apart in the first half. Chi Ngwefang opened the scoring in the 32
nd minute after his shot from 20 yards out deflected off a Greyhound defender and into the top corner. In the Adam Michel added to the lead in the 41
st minute, putting a shot just off the outstretched hands of UIndy goalkeeper
Christopher Jones.

Shots were 15-10 in favor of the Hawks. Jones made a pair of saves in goal for the Greyhounds while Logan Feldmann stopped one shot to earn the win.

UP NEXTThe Hounds will play their final regular season road match of the year on Sunday afternoon, taking on William Jewell College. Kick-off is set for 3:30 p.m.
