HEAR IT FROM THE HOUNDS Senior
Brendon Widau: "It's always reassuring knowing that we've held shots and quality chances to a minimum this year. So to get an early goal, that puts us in a spot we want to be in and it's our job to keep them off the scoreboard. We did just that and right now, we feel like we're where we want to be not only as a defensive unit, but the team as a whole."
Â
Senior
Zak Mitiche: "We've been all the places we've wanted to go. Right now, we have to stay focused and stay strong these last few games because we want to take another run at not only a GLVC Tournament championship, but another NCAA Tournament berth as well."
Â
Head coach John Higgins: "We really needed the early goal tonight. They're always important because it forces the opposition to open up and it gives us a real chance to counter on the offensive end. Our mentality was great tonight in what felt like a conference tournament game against a good team."
Â
"Our defense has done a great job limiting quality chances for the opposition all year, but tonight Chris (Jones) earned his clean sheet. He had a couple of really quality saves and this time of the year, you need clean sheets and need your goalkeeper to make big saves. Tonight, everyone on the defensive end got into the act."
