INDIANAPOLIS – The Greyhound men's soccer team returned home to wrap up the first weekend of GLVC play on Sunday afternoon against the Rangers of the University of Wisconsin-Parkside.

After the two teams played through 90 scoreless minutes, the game went to overtime. Following an infraction against the Hounds in their own box, the Rangers escaped with a win with a penalty kick goal in the 96th minute.

GAME CHANGER
With time winding down in the first overtime, UW-Parkside's Ryan Shogren was taken down in the UIndy box and the official immediately signaled for a penalty kick. Henderson made no mistake with the try, sticking it into the left side of the net for the win.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
Despite the loss, the Greyhounds controlled the pace of play for much of the contest, outshooting the Rangers 12-5 overall while generating six shots on goal to the Rangers' three. Josh Ling generated four shots to lead all attackers and recorded a trio of shots on goal, all coming in the first half.

Greyhound goalkeeper Christopher Jones made a trio of saves for UIndy, but saw his shutout streak come to an end at 318:48 when the game-winner crossed the line.

The Rangers got all five shots from five different players. Remi Bibal earned the clean sheet for Parkside after stopping all six Greyhound attempts.

HEAR IT FROM THE HOUNDS
Head coach John Higgins: "I was absolutely delighted with our performance today. We've kept the ball well in games we've played so far this year and today was no different. We created a lot of really good chances and it felt like our first full performance on the year as both sides of the ball were great."

"You can't do much more than we did today and not win a game. I told our guys after the game that if we stay at that level, the ball is going to start finding the back of the net. So we feel good about where we are right now even though our record doesn't reflect that."
