INDIANAPOLIS – Down by a pair of goals early in the second half, the University of Indianapolis women's soccer team rallied behind a pair of quick strike goals to pull even with the visiting Hawks of Quincy University on Sunday. The two teams would go into overtime but were unable to decide a winner as the game ended in a 2-2 draw.

GAME CHANGER
After cutting the Hawks' lead in half early in the second frame, the Greyhounds drew even in the 63rd minute when Stephanie Burdsall chipped home a crossing pass from Michele Govern to even the match. It was the second goal of the season for the freshman midfielder and the second point of the year for Govern.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
After being outshot 8-1 in the first half, the Greyhounds came to life when the second half began. Less than two minutes after falling behind by two, the Hounds got on the board in the 52nd minute when Elizabeth Behrends broke in on goal and slid a shot past Quincy goalkeeper Megan Swanson for her second tally of the year.

UIndy had a chance to put the game away in overtime when Jocelyn Evans got free on the right side of the box. But Swanson charged out to cut off the angle and made a save on Evans' attempt to keep the game tied.

Shots were 19-13 in favor of the Hawks. In goal, junior Emma Crenshaw turned in another quality performance, making 12 saves, her second double-digit save performance of the year.

Both Quincy goals came via the header. The first coming in the 19th minute when Haylye Markway re-directed a corner kick for her first of the year. Ashley Burton made it 2-0 in the 51st minute, heading home a free kick for her ninth goal of the year. Maddy Kuhlenberg assisted on both goals.

COACH'S CORNER
Head coach Holly Cox: "To come back from down by a pair shows a lot of character with our team. We didn't get off to the start that we wanted so to rally was impressive. We showed in the second half that we can compete, win first and second balls and score goals. We're still trying to put it together for 90 minutes."

"In every game we've been in that we've gone down, our kids don't quit and I've been really impressed with that. They've always worked hard to get back in game and they refuse to feel sorry for themselves."

"We still have to be more clinical in front of the goal and put the ball in the net. We had some chances in overtime and we just couldn't find the net. That's been a point of emphasis for us all year and we've just got to keep working at it."
