INDIANAPOLIS – The UIndy swimming and diving teams combined for three convincing dual wins in their annual Senior Day meet Saturday. The No. 9-ranked Greyhound men bested GLVC-mate Missouri-St. Louis, 190-37, while the UIndy women toppd both UMSL and crosstown Butler, 175.5-37 and 175.5-10.5, respectively.
Â
Prior to the competition, UIndy honored its 11 seniors:

Though first-year head coach
Jason Hite has only known his seniors a short time, he had high praise for the way the group has handled their final season.
Â
"They have done a phenomenal job coming in with a new system, a new coach, a new staff, and responded really well," said Hite. They've been great leaders through and through, and the way they've responded dictated the way the rest of the team was going to respond, and I've been very impressed with it.
"They've had some great swims and had more great swims today. It was exciting to see that. Great to meet some of their parents for the first time, and I know it's going to be an exciting last couple of weeks for them, and maybe even the last six weeks if we get a few of them to nationals.
Â
In the pool, the Greyhounds dominated their opponents, winning 25 of the 26 events and setting four NCAA provisional marks.
Â
"I'm really happy with what I saw today," noted Hite. "In swimming, we compare rested times with rested times; we compare in-season times with in-season times. And so I look at what our kids are doing right now headed into GLVCs in comparison with what they were doing headed into
House of Champions first semester, and I think we're leaps and bounds in front of where we were back then, and so it makes we very excited, and I know it makes the kids very excited about what's to come at GLVCs."
Â
Just joining the UIndy roster at semester, freshmen
Rodrigo Codo Berti and
Kyri Papa-Adams accounted for all four NCAA "B" cuts. The pair went one-two in the 200 free, with Papa-Adams edging Berti 1:40.40 to 1:41.42. Papa-Adams also won the 500 free with a time of 4:37.14, while Berti took first place in the 100 back with a 49.19, good for the second-fastest time in program history.
Â
Standouts for the women included Mahoney (200 free, 200 medley relay),
Agnieszka Malecka (100 back, 200 medley relay), and Mikaelsson (200 IM, 200 medley relay), who each contributed two wins.
Â
On deck for the Hounds is the 2016 GLVC Championships. The conference meet will again be held at the Crawfordsville Aquatics Center in nearby Crawfordsville, Ind., Feb. 11-14.
