SOMERS, Wis. – The University of Indianapolis women's soccer team was in search of their third consecutive win on Friday afternoon against the Ranger of Wisconsin-Parkside. UIndy was also looking to move into the top half of the GLVC with a victory.

But it wasn't meant to be on Friday as the Rangers scored less than six minutes into the match and put forth a strong defensive effort on their way to a 2-0 win over the Hounds.

GAME CHANGER
Parkside needed less than six minutes to net the eventual game-winning goal. Vianey Hernandez sent a long ball in behind the UIndy defense where Jillian Hetfleisch was waiting. The Parkside attacker made no mistake with her one-on-one opportunity, beating
Emma Crenshaw to low left side of the net for her fourth goal of the year.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
-Hernandez hammered home a critical insurance goal right before the end of the first half, blasting a shot from the top of the 18-yard box for her third goal of the season with 51 seconds left on the clock.

-The Greyhounds were kept without a shot on goal until the 56
th minute. UIndy made a push to break the shutout with four shots in the final five minutes, but weren't able to find the back of the net.

-Parkside held a slim 10-9 advantage on the shot clock while putting eight shots on target to the Greyhounds' five.
Sam Enloe,
Carah Kreimer and
Hannah Mangus all finished with two attempts to lead the Hounds.

-In goal, Crenshaw made six saves for UIndy while Parkside's Adrianna Bratel soaked up all five shots she faced to earn the clean sheet.

-The Greyhounds entered play on Friday in a tie with Southern Indiana for the eighth and final spot in the GLVC Tournament but slid down to 10
th place in the league with the defeat. The Greyhounds' next opponent, Lewis University, is currently holding down the final spot in the eight-team conference tournament field entering their match at St. Joseph's on Friday night.

The Hounds will have another chance to inch closer to the conference tournament field on Sunday when they battle the Flyers at Key Stadium on Senior Day. Kickoff is set for noon.
