QUINCY, Ill. – The Greyhound women's soccer team fell into an early hole in their match with the Quincy Hawks on Friday night, dropping their third game in a row following a 5-1 defeat.
Â
GAME CHANGER
Quincy's Abby Pulliam potted the first three goals of the game on her way to scoring four of the Hawks' five tallies on the night. She netted the game-winner with 13 minutes left in the opening half, ripping a shot from the left side of the box in the upper right hand corner for what was her second of the game at that point.
Â
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
Michele Govern prevented a Quincy shutout and snapped a stretch of 262:40 without a goal when she netted the Hounds' lone goal in the 83
rd minute. The sophomore ripped a shot from 21 yards out that found the back of the net for her second tally of the year.
Â
Both teams attempted seven shots in the first half and finished with four shots on target in the opening 45 minutes. When the final whistle sounded, the Hawks held a 17-12 advantage in total shots and a 12-9 edge in shots on goal.
Â
Stephanie Burdsall finished with five shots, putting four attack attempts on target. Govern and
Elizabeth Behrends were the only other Greyhounds to record multiple attack attempts, finishing with a pair of shots each.

The Hounds will look to halt their three-game slide on Sunday afternoon, but it won't be easy as they head to Kirksville, Mo. to take on No. 10-ranked Truman State University. Kickoff is set for 1:00 p.m.
