WESTFIELD, Ind. – The Greyhound baseball team wrapped up a 3-1 weekend on Sunday, splitting a pair of contests at Grand Park. UIndy (11-3) won an offensive showdown with fellow GLVC power Quincy (9-3_ in the opener in dramatic fashion, picking up a 13-12 win on a walk-off wild pitch.

Storm Joop scored three runs on the day to pace the Hounds.
Â
GAME ONE: Quincy 12 – Uindy 13Â
Quincy plated a pair of runs with two outs in their first trip to the plate, but UIndy got them right back in the bottom of the second with a Hensley two-run triple and took their first lead of the day one inning later on
Colin Hawk's sacrifice fly.
Â
After the Hawks tied the game in their half of the fourth, UIndy surged ahead with four unearned runs in the bottom of the inning, highlighted by Ritchie's three-run blast that made it 7-3 Greyhounds. Quincy would respond with five runs in the top of the fifth, chasing UIndy starter

Â
The Hawks answered again with a pair of runs in the sixth and two more in their half of the seventh to take a 12-10 lead, but the Greyhounds wasted no time with their response in the bottom of the seventh. Dylan Jones facing a 3-1 count, Quincy hurler Cole Crawford uncorked a wild pitch that allowed Joop to race home with a head first slide to give UIndy the win.
Â
Cornwell (1-0) tossed three innings of one-hit ball in relief to pick up the win. Shaw was tagged for five earned runs on seven hits with one walk and five K's in 4 1/3 innings pitched.
Â
GAME TWO: Saginaw Valley 2 – Uindy 1Â
The final game of the weekend was a polar opposite of its predecessor, dominated by starting pitchers
Michael Schalasky and Clayton Spiker. The teams combined for just three hits through the first three-and-a-half innings before the Greyhounds got on the board in the bottom of the fourth with a
Brady Thomas RBI ground out.

Â
The Cardinals would pick up just three hits the rest of the way, the biggest a lead-off triple from Adam Fitzgibbon to lead off the eighth. Fitzgibbon would score later in the inning to put the Cardinals in front and Spiker shut the door on the UIndy bats the rest of the way to snap the Greyhounds' 10-game winning streak.
Â
Schalasky (0-1) picked up the tough loss, allowing a pair of earned runs on just four hits with three walks and a strikeout over seven innings of work, the longest outing of his young career.
Â
The Greyhounds will be back at Grand Park in Westfield for their next contest, taking on Cedarville University on Friday, Mar. 18 at 5:30 p.m. as part of the Midwest Region Baseball Crossover.
