ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The University of Indianapolis baseball team stepped out of divisional play on Tuesday for a cross-division showdown against GLVC West member Missouri-St. Louis.
Â
Joe Trennepohl and
Storm Joop both connected for two-run home runs, but the Hounds succumbed to a pair of Triton home runs late in an 8-6 loss.
Â
Trennepohl and
Brady Thomas each went 2-for-3 and scored once on the afternoon.

Â
Trennepohl opened the scoring with one out in the top of the second inning, belting his fourth round tripper of the year that put the Hounds in front. UMSL answered with a solo shot from Ulrey in the second and three more runs in the fourth to seize a 4-2 lead.
Â
After squandering a bases loaded opportunity in the fourth, the Greyhounds got back to even in their half of the fifth when Joop crushed his third home run of the year over the wall in left center field.
Â
After

Â
But the lead was short lived as the Tritons finally got to Frascella in the bottom of the seventh with two outs. After a couple hit batters earlier in the inning, Foster put UMSL back in front with a long home run over the center field wall to make it 7-6.
Â
UMSL added an insurance run in the eighth on a solo shot from DeCero before turning the ball over to Austin Simokaitis, who worked a scoreless ninth for his 13
