ON TAP
The Greyhounds return to conference play with a road tilt versus the conference-leading Truman State University Bulldogs Saturday night. Kickoff from Kirksville, Mo., is set for 8 p.m. ET. The game can be seen online on the GLVC Sports Network, as well as heard on the radio at 88.7 FM and online at WICRonline.org.

ABOUT TRUMAN
The Bulldogs enter the weekend 3-1 overall and 2-0 versus the GLVC -- one of only two schools still unbeaten in league play (Southwest Baptist). They are coming off back-to-back convincing conference victories, including a 44-20 win at Missouri A&T and a 37-0 shutout versus Lincoln. They also trounced in-region Malone in week two, 35-3, after opening the year with a 31-19 loss at Midwestern State, who is currently undefeated and ranked 10th in the Division II coaches poll.

Truman tops the league in scoring defense, allowing just 13.5 point per contest. The Bulldogs pass rush has averaged three sacks per game, part of 9.8 tackles for a loss per game. Those numbers are good for 28th and 11th, respectively, in Division II.

The Bulldogs are led by freshman running back Jordan Salima. The Independence, Mo., native, who racked up 125 rushing yards and two TDs last week against Lincoln, leads the GLVC in all-purpose yardage (163.2 ypg) and is also tied for the conference lead in touchdowns (5).

HOUNDS vs. BULLDOGS
In a series that coincided with Truman joining the GLVC in 2013, UIndy has won all three previous meetings with the Bulldogs. However, all three games have been relatively close, with the Hounds' margin of victory of 7.7 points good for the lowest such number versus all GLVC schools with at least two games played. See below for a concise breakdown.

UIndy's Margin of Victory vs. GLVC opponents*
OPPONENT M.O.V. GAMES PLAYED
Kentucky Wesleyan 41.5 2
McKendree 41.0 4
William Jewell 30.8 4

Missouri S&T 23.3 4
Saint Joseph's 21.3 4
Quincy 20.5 4
Southwest Baptist 10.7 3
Truman 7.7 3

*GLVC contests only; minimum two games played

Last season in Indianapolis, the Greyhounds earned a 26-13 Homecoming win versus Truman. Trailing 6-2 midway through the second quarter, UIndy ran off 24 unanswered points, including 17 in the third quarter, to pull away.

UIndy's most-recent safety came in that contest. After punter Brad Schickel pinned the Bulldogs at their own two-yard line, then-senior Lee Campbell exploded into the Truman backfield to stuff a rush attempt and put the rare two-pointer on the board.

LAST TIME OUT
The Hounds recorded their first win of the season with a convincing 37-7 victory at non-conference Kentucky Wesleyan last week. The UIndy defense held the host Panthers to 141 total yards, including a paltry 19 yards on the ground  -- the lowest rushing total for a UIndy opponent since Gannon University mustered 17 yards in September of 2007.

Junior Tuwan Payton led the way offensively, compiling 93 receiving yards on just three catches. He scored touchdowns on passes of 56 and 32 yards, with the former good for the team's longest play from scrimmage this season.

#DriveFor5
The Greyhounds are on a quest for a fifth consecutive GLVC title this season. The current streak of four straight conference crowns broke the program record for most consecutive league championships, surpassing the three-year run of Hoosier College Conference titles from 1953-55. All told, UIndy has won 30 of 32 games versus GLVC opponents since the conference began sponsoring football in 2012.

ROAD WARRIORS
UIndy wraps up a three-game road swing this weekend. After starting the season with four away contests in the first five weeks, the Greyhounds will finish the regular season with four of its final six dates at home.

RATE OF RETURN
The aforementioned Tuwan Payton is moving up the UIndy record book in kickoff return yards. With one return for 34 yards last weekend, he upped his career total to 1,081 yards to move into third in the program annals. For the season, the New Albany, Ind., product ranks first in the GLVC and sixth in Division II in kickoff return average at 35.4 yards per. The current school record for kickoff return average in a single season was set in 1975 by Indiana Football Hall of Famer Dick Nalley (28.3).

2K CLUB
Junior running back Andrew Walker surpassed the 2,000-rushing-yard plateau last week, becoming just the 13th Greyhound to reach the career milestone. Also scoring his 30th career touchdown last week, the Chicago native is one of only five Greyhounds to have at least 2,000 career rushing yards and 30 career TDs, joining Dick Nyers (1952-55), Jim Ware (1959-62), Klay Fiechter (2010-13) and Matt Ripp (2011-14).

ON THE RECEIVING END
After compiling five catches for 61 yards last weekend, sophomore wideout Malik Higgins remained the GLVC's leading receiver, averaging 111.3 receiving yards per game through the first four weeks. That pace would put him second in the program record books behind only Reece Horn and his 116.3 yards-per-game average in 2015.

NEW KID ON THE BLOCK
Redshirt-freshman Jacob Schmatz has made an immediate impact since moving into the starting lineup in week three. The defensive end out of Mishawaka, Ind., has racked up 13 total tackles and 4.5 sacks over the last two games. He leads the team and ranks third in the GLVC in sacks.
