INDIANAPOLIS - The University of Indianapolis men's soccer team came up short against the Lewis Flyers on Friday, losing 3-2 on Team IMPACT Night.
The Flyers opened the scoring near the end of the first half, as Floris Blom scored in the 41st minute to give them a 1-0 lead.
In the 62nd minute, Dorian Moreno scored to double the lead, but the Hounds responded,
Josh Ling cutting the deficit in the 72nd minute and
Javier Steinwascher scoring the equalizer in the 77th minute.
However, the Flyers had one more goal in them, as Nico Mueller scored in the 81st minute to give the Flyers the 3-2 win.
Friday was Team IMPACT night for the Hounds, and Team IMPACT team member
Braden Tamosaitis started for the team and took the opening kickoff.
The Hounds outshot the Flyers 16-13 and put eight of their shots on target.
Ben Rohder was carded for the Hounds in the 63rd minute and Mauricio Lasso was booked for the Flyers in the 80th minute.
The Hounds remain in fourth in the conference table, two games behind the Rockhurt Hawks.
The Hounds will host the Illinois-Springfield Prairie Stars at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday.
