Davis has career-best 25 digs as Greyhounds drop four-setter to Missouri-St. Louis

INDIANAPOLIS – The UIndy volleyball team hung with Missouri-St. Louis on Friday night, but the Greyhounds couldn't complete the comeback as they lost in four tightly-contested sets. In total, the match had 18 ties and eight lead changes. The defeat sends UIndy to 12-16 overall this season and 7-8 in the GLVC.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The first set proved to be the closest, but the visiting Tritons pulled out the win, 25-23. UIndy held Missouri-St. Louis to just .120 on the attack, but the Greyhound offense couldn't click enough to rally off consecutive points. Anna Fehribach led the team with five kills in the frame, while Teigan Flaws added three herself while attacking at a .500 clip.

The Greyhound offense performed well in the second frame, but the opposition was too much on its respective attack. Three UIndy members had at least three kills, including Lauren Koopman. The junior also led the team with a .750 hitting percentage of players with at least three kills. Alexis Waugh dished out eight assists in the set, a match-high among Greyhounds. The hosts fell in extra points, 26-24.

UIndy finally got on the scoreboard with a third-set victory, holding the visitors to just .095 hitting. Kailey Kleinert and Taylor Jacquay chipped in a solo block each, while the team totaled three stops. Katie Furlong and Jacquay each played important roles coming off the bench, as they both contributed a trio of kills in the set to lead UIndy to the 25-22 win.

Furlong paced the Greyhounds with five kills on .625 hitting in the fourth frame before Missouri-St. Louis pulled off another set win to earn the match victory. Waugh and Alyssa Spears each had seven assists, totaling for 50 dimes on the team's 56 kills. Fehribach and Koopman each had a solo block, while the former also had four kills and attacked at a .333 rate. The Tritons would win the deciding set, 25-21.
