ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – The UIndy volleyball team (18-10, 11-5 GLVC) tied the match at one set apiece, but failed to overcome the No. 22 Lewis Flyers (22-6, 13-3 GLVC) on their senior night in Neil Carey Arena on Tuesday evening.

The Flyers finished the 2018 home portion of its schedule undefeated for the third time in 10 seasons.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Greyhounds used a 16-5 run in the second set to even the match, but Lewis hit .339 the final two frames to down the visitors in four.

Two Hounds finished the match with double-digit kills, with
Katie Furlong leading the team with 13, while
Julia Kruzan had 11 on .333 hitting. UIndy totaled eight blocks in the loss compared to the Flyers' seven, the second time in four matches the team has stopped at least eight opposing shots.

Sophomore libero
Olivia Martin paced the Hounds with 16 digs, while
Jena Davis (12) and Furlong (11) also reached double figures.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
Four of the team's eight blocks on Tuesday were solo stops, two coming from each of
Emily Ellis and
Katie Voelz. Voelz now leads the team with 16 solo blocks this season, while Ellis has 14.

Furlong now ranks third in program history for a sophomore with 456 kills. The Galena, Ill. native is now 47 kills away from tying the UIndy record in the category as a second-year player.

Martin also ranks third as a sophomore with 589 digs. The libero is just 24 scoops away from second on the list, but is 148 away from the single-season record for digs, held by Kyleigh Turner in 2007.

Alyssa Spears dished out another 40 assists in the loss, the junior's sixth straight match with at least that many dimes. The Heltonville, Ind. native has reached at least 40 assists in 18 contests this season.
