INDIANAPOLIS – The 2018 Great Lakes Valley Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships concluded Sunday, with the UIndy men winning the team title and the women taking third. The Greyhounds once again hosted the meet, which was held on campus at the Athletics and Recreation Center Saturday and Sunday.
The UIndy men captured their fifth GLVC indoor title in the last nine seasons, matching Lewis University's league-high total of five overall indoor championships. Both Greyhound teams combined for nine event titles and set a total of three school records and a pair of GLVC benchmarks.
The Greyhounds earned three of the four major awards on the men's side. See below for the complete list.

Junior
Austin Hogan repeated as the GLVC Indoor Field Athlete of the Year after dominating the throwing events. The Indy native won both the shot put and the weight throw, setting a new personal record in the latter with a heave of 19.68 meters.
Senior
Jordan Boyd earned a bronze medal in both throws events, helping the Hounds take four of the top-eight spots in the shot.
Senior
Treyvon Matthews bested not only the field, but also his own school record in the 60-meter hurdles, crossing in 7.95 seconds. Sophomore
Dominique Craig mae the podium with a third-place time of 8.44, just ahead of fourth-place

Junior
Brian Sales earned his third consecutive GLVC title in the 400 and second straight indoor crown. His winning time of 49.74 was just ahead of teammates
Allen Wright in second (50.08) and
John Chavis in fourth (51.19).
Junior
DeAndre Bluitt out-leaped the competition in the high jump, setting a new indoor PR and an NCAA provisional mark by clearing 2.06 meters.
Wright, Walden, Sales and Chavis combined to win the 4x400 meter relay with a season-best time of 3:25.57, while senior
Sanjay Daley took silver in the 60 meters (6.91).
Along with the 10 points earned by the aforementioned relay team, Walden contributed eight points individually on his way to GLVC Men's Track & Field Freshman of the Year honors. The New Palestine, Ind., product placed fourth in the long jump and sixth in the 60 meters.
Meanwhile, Fangman garnered his fifth GLVC Men's Indoor Coach of the Year award.
On the women's side, it was
Katie Monk who owned the throwing events. Fresh off winning a record five consecutive GLVC Field Athlete of the Week honors, the junior broke the GLVC record in both the shot put and the weight throw. She nearly cracked the 20-meter mark with the weight, as her toss of 19.93m broke her own school benchmark.
Freshman
Kylie Falcone also had a successful meet, winning the pole vault by clearing 3.56 meters. Senior
Lindsey Foster placed second in the long jump with a school-record 5.74-meter leap, senior
Majaica Brooks took silver in the 60-meter hurdles (8.79), while freshman
Lauren Bailey earned the bronze in the mile (5:07.81).
