SOMERS, Wis. – A day after scoring 27 runs in the series opener at Wisconsin-Parkside, the UIndy baseball team (27-18, 9-11 GLVC) plated 36 more on Sunday afternoon in the doubleheader sweep for the Greyhounds.
Â
Macy Holdsworth had three hits in each game, including eight RBI and three runs scored off two homers and a double.
Dylan Jones also drove in seven today, while
Joe Kenney scored five on four hits. Five Greyhounds went deep in game one, while
Kyle Orloff joined Holdsworth in homering in both contests.

The Hounds scored four times in the first inning, all from Jones' grand slam as the fourth hitter of the game. Another five crossed the plate in the third, starting with a single from
Nick Miller that scored Jones with nobody out. After Kenney singled home Miller,
Tyler Phillips launched one over the fence to give UIndy a 9-0 lead.
Â
Orloff homered to lead off the fourth frame, while Kenney chased home Holdsworth and Miller a few batters later with a double of his own. After Jones singled home
Hunter Waning in the fifth, Holdsworth hit his first long ball of the day and
Trey Smith doubled to plate Miller.
Â
The Rangers scored two in their half of the fifth, but that would be all for the home team in the game. The Hounds added three more runs, including a solo shot in the sixth from
Storm Joop.
Blake Richardson and
John Carpinelli each recorded an RBI in the seventh inning from a sacrifice fly and bases-loaded walk, respectively.
Â
Michael Schalasky went five innings on the bump, striking out nine and surrendering two earned runs.
Arian Coffey scattered two hits in his first two innings of work in over three weeks.
Â
UIndy 17, UWP 9
Holdsworth maintained the Hounds' rampant offensive pace immediately in the finale, homering with Orloff and Jones on base in the first inning. After Parkside tallied one in the bottom half of the opening frame, UIndy scored four unearned runs in the second thanks to a couple errors by the Rangers. Jones and Smith each credited with RBIs in the inning.
Â
Parkside was not going to stay down as it scored five runs in the bottom of the third to only trail by a single tally. Kenney sent one deep in the fifth and Holdsworth doubled home Jones in the sixth to inch the lead back to three before the team scored four more in the seventh.
Â
Phillips singled to score Kenney with one out in the inning, while Orloff homered for the second time on the day after Richardson recorded his first knock since the fourth game of the season. The Greyhounds scored four more times before it was all said and done, while the Rangers sent home three more runners in the eighth, which would result in a final of 17-9.
