NEW ORLEANS – The UIndy women's indoor track & field team moved up five spots to No. 10 in this week's NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field National Rating Index, released by the U.S. Cross Country and Track & Field Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) this week.
The Greyhounds' point total is boosted by strong performances by the throwers. Senior
Katie Monk tops all DII women in the weight throw with teammate Hillary Paxson sixth. Monk also ranks fifth in the women's shot out.
In addition, sophomore distance runner
Lauren Bailey is positioned in the top 12 in both the 3000 and 5000 meter, while pole vaulters
Brittney Clark (19th) and
Kylie Falcone, who have each held the school record this season, sit in the top 30.
Meanwhile, the UIndy men's team ranks 37th in Division II based on their rating. Senior
Austin Hogan ranks seventh in the nation in both the shot put and weight throw, while fellow-thrower
Keeton Adams sits in 27th in the shot.
The Greyhounds continue competition by hosting the Tom Hathaway Distance Classic this Friday and Saturday, Jan. 25-26.
