INDIANAPOLIS – The Greyhound cross country teams packed their bags on Saturday morning and trekked up north to the Lewis Conference Crossover for a GLVC-packed set of races. The men placed 21st out of 35 teams at the meet, while the women ranked 19th out of 38 squads.
UIndy was led by
Lauren Bailey for the women, placing fourth overall in the entire field. Her final time of 22:41.3 carried her to average a 3:47 time per kilometer, edging out the GLVC as the top runner for the conference.
Lex Brookshire was the next Greyhound to cross the line, earning a 24:06.2 time overall to finish in the top fourth of the final standings. Some other notable finishers for UIndy were
Melissa Spencer (24:23.8),
Kelsey Dugger (25:04.1) and
Madelyn Miller (25:07.6).
The men featured
Nathan Herbst as the leading Greyhound, finishing on his final time of 26:49.6.
Will Reid didn't finish far behind him, as the junior earned a final time of 27:00.5. The other top finishers for UIndy included

AJ Goecker (27:09.7) and
Kyle Gross (27:34.5).
UIndy will step up to the starting line on October 26, as they will commence the championship segment of their season. The 26th will be the GLVC Cross Country Championships, the first race commencing at 11:30 a.m.
