Olczyk's Game-winner Gives Hounds 2-1 Win Over UIS

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – After holding on to a 1-0 win Friday night at Lewis, the UIndy men's soccer team took the field again Sunday afternoon. The Hounds traveled down to face the Prairie Stars of UIS, after a scoreless first half, the Hounds scored a pair of goals on their way to winning their third straight game, 2-1.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The first half did not produce much offense with either team. The Greyhounds got two shots on frame, putting the UIS keeper to work as he recorded two saves on the shots. UIS on the other hand tested Hounds keeper Dimitrios Karousos just once in the opening 45 minutes, making his first save of the day in the 15th minute as the game went to the half at 0-0 tie.

The beginning of the second half was similar to the first half in that neither team could find the back of the net. The Greyhounds threatened a few times, getting close but were unable to put a shot on target. The feeling was that the Hounds were about to break through and score, it finally happened in the 84th minute when Kendall Allen scored for the second-straight game to go up 1-0. Springfield did not fold, scoring just four minutes to tie up the game late. UIndy was rewarded a free kick with just over a minute to go, senior Javier Steinwascher found junior Jakub Olczyk to put UIndy up 2-1 with just over a minute to go. The Greyhound defense did not let up in the final minute as UIndy won its third-straight game, topping UIS 2-1 Sunday afternoon.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
