Greyhounds Shut Out Bearcats on the Road

BOLIVAR, Mo. – Coming off close losses last week on the road, the UIndy women's soccer team went back on the road Friday to face Southwest Baptist. The Hounds welcomed the Bearcats to the conference Friday afternoon, shutting out SBU 3-0 at home.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Greyhounds started off the action in Friday's game, junior Taylor Peck took a pass from Emily Del Campo and converted it into points to take the 1-0 lead in the game's 22nd minute. Del Campo took the other shot on target in the opening half, while the Greyhound defense held the Bearcats to no shots on frame before the half, taking the 1-0 lead into the break.

UIndy fired off three quick shots against the SBU keeper in the second half before Peck came back with her second goal of the game in the 74th minute doubled the Greyhound lead to 2-0 with just over 15 minutes to go. The Hounds were not done after Peck's second goal of the day, fellow junior Lexi Turner tied Peck for the team lead with her fourth goal of the season as UIndy led SBU 3-0 with the game coming to an end. The Greyhounds got to rest some of their starters down the stretch, getting some reserves some action, going on to win 3-0.
