Men's Soccer Makes it Five in a Row with Win Over Drury

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – On their longest winning streak since 2015, the UIndy men's soccer team headed to Drury to face a Panther team that dropped their last contest to Bellarmine. The Greyhounds handed the Panthers their second-straight loss, shutting out Drury 2-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Greyhound defense made the first half easy for Dimitrios Karousos who was in goal once again for UIndy. The Panthers only fired off two shots in the opening half, neither coming close to finding the back of the net or being on target. The Hounds were also unable to connect in the opening half with Ian Vicars coming up empty on his shot that was saved by the Drury keeper.

The second half started with the Hounds coming out and tearing up the Drury defense early. The Greyhounds were the first team to put some points on the board as Alejandro Steinwascher scored for the second-straight game to go up 1-0. Javier Steinwascher was the one who chipped in with the assist on his brother's goal, but was not done there as he found Bryan Moreira in the 62nd minute who made doubled the Greyhound lead to 2-0 with just over 25 minutes to go. The Hounds were able to hold on to the lead and keep Drury out of the back of the net, defeating the host Panthers 2-0.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
-Freshman Bryan Moreira has had a huge impact on the Greyhound offense as of late. The Monteverde Academy product has scored three goals this weekend, tying him for most goals on the team with four on the season.
-Javier Steinwascher has helped lead the UIndy attack since coming back from an injury sustained late last month. The senior is tied for the team-lead in goals with four on the year, but has a firm grasp on the team lead in assists with 10 dimes on the year, seven more than next most player.
-Dimitrios Karousos has had a light work load in goal lately during the team's five-game winning streak. The junior from Greece has only made a single save or no saves at all in three of the team's last four contests.
