INDIANAPOLIS - The 2019 GLVC Men's and Women's Cross Country Championships will be held on Saturday, Oct. 26, at Angel Mounds in Evansville, Indiana, with Southern Indiana serving as host.

Last season, the men tied their highest place in recent years with fourth as the women claimed their first GLVC title since 1992. The women's performance garnered head coach Brad Robinson the title of, 'GLVC Coach of the Year.'
Junior Lauren Bailey has been the Greyhound to lead the charge for the women, maintaining near the top of results throughout the season. Bailey earned GLVC Runner of the Week back on Oct 15, the only Greyhound to be awarded the honor this season. Lex Brookshire looks to make a splash in her first GLVC race, as the freshman has consistently been one of the top finishers for the UIndy women's team throughout the season.

The men bring back several competitive runners from last year, including sophomore Chris Switzer. Switzer caught the eyes of many as he raced his way into fourth overall in last year's meet as a freshman. The Greyhounds bring in plenty of other runners ready to build on their success this season, including Jacob Woodrow, who placed 18th at last year's meet.

For the sixth-straight season, the GLVC Cross Country Championships is scheduled to be streamed tape-delayed on the GLVC Sports Network, weather permitting. The date and time the event will air is still to be determined.  In addition, the GLVCSN will once again stream its live "Blue Carpet Special" from the GLVC Cross Country Championship banquet at the new USI Screaming Eagles Arena on Friday at 7:45 p.m.

The 2019 postseason race will open with the 36th annual women's 6,000-meter run at 10:30 a.m., followed by the 41st annual men's 8,000-meter run at 11:30 a.m.
