Unbeaten Hounds Drop S&T, Set Conference Win Streak Mark

NDIANAPOLIS – The eighth-ranked UIndy football team (7-0, 5-0 GLVC) remained undefeated with a 48-7 win against visiting Missouri S&T on a rainy Saturday night at Key Stadium. The result gave the Greyhounds their 23rd consecutive victory in Great Lakes Valley Conference play, setting a new league record.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Battling a persistent downpour much of the evening, the Hounds rushed for more than 400 yards, including a combined 324 from running backs Al McKeller and Toriano Clinton. Meanwhile, the UIndy defense delivered a pair of touchdowns to aid the cause, as Joe Lambright returned a fumble 60 yards for a score after earlier blocking a punt that teammate Kiave' Guerrier recovered in the end zone.

Leading 14-0 coming out of the half, the Greyhounds delivered a 20-point salvo in the third quarter to pull away. After Clinton opened the second half with a 58-yard kickoff return, UIndy needed just 36 seconds to make it a three-score game. McKeller broke off runs of 28 and 10 yards in the brief but effective drive to extend the lead.

UIndy next scored on a more traditional possession – a 12-play, 62-yard touchdown drive – and quickly followed with Lambright's blocked punt and Guerrier's subsequent TD to make it 34-zip midway through the third.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- McKeller racked up a season-high 184 yards and two touchdowns on 30 carries, while Clinton amassed a total of 212 all-purpose yards.
- Guerrier's opportunistic fumble recovery was good for his first collegiate TD.
- Senior Alex Parsons delivered a crushing blow to Miner QB Luke Hertzler in the fourth quarter, supplying the sack-fumble that Lambright would take 60 yards the other way for the scoop and score. The play featured the first fumble return for a TD for the Hounds since 2013 and longest since 2010.
- Parsons finished with a team-high 10 tackles, including 2.5 for a loss, while also adding a pass break-up.
- Daveon Bell (5 yds) and Joseph Sarabia (37 yds) each had a touchdown reception in the second half.
- Junior cornerback Mitch Dewitt notched his second interception of the season eith asecond-quarter pick.

MORE NOTES
UIndy's 23-game win streak in GLVC play surpassed the previous conference mark of 22, set by the Greyhounds from 2012-14 … McKeller's big night propelled him from No. 6 all the way to No. 3 on UIndy's list of all-time leading rushers. He now sits at 3,258 career yards, behind only Klay Fietcher (3,809) and Dick Nalley (3,559) in program history … Senior TJ Edwards has thrown for at least two TDs and ran for one in each of the last six games ... The Hounds are now 8-0 all-time versus Missouri S&T.

UP NEXT
The Greyhounds embark on their final road trip of the regular season next weekend when they travel to St. Charles, Mo., to face the Lions of Lindenwood University on Saturday, Nov. 2 in a battle of GLVC unbeatens.
