Women's Soccer Debuts at Ninth in Regional Poll

INDIANAPOLIS – The UIndy women's soccer team debuted at No. 9 in the NCAA's first edition of the regional rankings, announced Wednesday afternoon. The Greyhounds are the fourth team from the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) in the set of rankings, which is headlined by current GLIAC-leader Grand Valley State.

The top eight teams from the Midwest region will advance to the 2019 NCAA tournament, which begins November 22 from the campus of the top seed. Fellow GLVC members Bellarmine (fourth), Rockhurst (fifth) and McKendree (seventh) also appear on the initial set of rankings.

UIndy has already clinched a spot in the GLVC Championship Tournament, with quarterfinal matches scheduled for Sunday, November 10 from the respective higher-seed's campus. The Greyhounds welcome Rockhurst this Friday to Key Stadium for an important GLVC contest, which will affect the top of the conference standings.
