INDIANAPOLIS – The UIndy men's soccer team was back in action Friday night in Key Stadium Friday night. After Sunday's loss against No. 24 Maryville, the Greyhounds bounced back in a major way, beating Rockhurst 4-0 under the lights.
Â
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Greyhound offense built itself Friday night off opportunities the UIndy defense built for it.
Miles Palmer was back in the net for UIndy Friday night for his first start of the season, the Hounds defense helped out the graduate student in his first game back, limiting the Rockhurst offense in the first half. UIndy's first goal came in the 33rd minute off the foot of
Javier Steinwascher, it took no time for the Hounds to tack on another goal after their first. A successful free kick set up a
Kendall Allen header just three minutes later as the Hounds took a 2-0 lead into the locker room.
Â
UIndy's defense kept up the pressure in the second half, still limiting the number of shots Palmer faced in goal. Much like the first half, once UIndy scored their first goal of the half, it did not take long for them to score another. One of the leaders in assists across DII,
Javier Steinwascher added to his total tonight, finding his brother Alejandro in the 58th minute. Shortly after the Steinwascher duo connected,
Ian Vicars found the back of the net for his first goal of his Greyhound career as UIndy went on to win 4- nil.
