INDIANAPOLIS – Riding a three-game winning streak, the UIndy women's soccer team hosted the No. 1 team in the GLVC in the Rockhurst Hawks. The Hounds took a 3-0 lead into the break, holding on to another shutout win over GLVC's top-team.
HOW IT HAPPENED
UIndy started off the game with a goal in the game's 3rd minute. Reigning GLVC offensive player of the week
Taylor Peck got by Rockhurst's defenders in the box and put one by their keeper as well to give the Hounds the early advantage. UIndy kept their foot on the gas in the early going, continuing to test the Hawks.
Elena Espinosa took a pass near the Hawks keeper in the 18th minute to increase the UIndy lead. The Hounds were not done there as
Emily Del Campo scored yet again for UIndy in the opening half as Peck added an assist to her point total, making it 3-nil heading into the break.
UIndy did not get comfortable with their lead, still keeping up the pressure on the Rockhurst defense while also playing tough defense. Reigning GLVC defensive player of the week
Sophia Saucerman had another strong game in the net for UIndy. The Hounds' back line made life easy for Saucerman between the pipes as she made nine saves, hardly facing tough shots from the Hawks' forwards. UIndy was able to hold on to the shutout in the second half, beating the GLVC's top team 3-0.

-After winning back-to-back offensive player of the week awards from the conference,
Taylor Peck started off her campaign for a third-straight award with three more points tonight. Peck has now scored six goals in UIndy's last four games.

Sophia Saucerman made a career-high nine saves in goal tonight, topping her previous best of five that she set in last month's win over UMSL.
-UIndy now sits alone in second-place in the GLVC heading into Sunday's game, dropping the Hawks down from first to third tonight.

The Greyhounds wrap up the regular season Sunday afternoon when they host William Jewell for Senior Day. Kickoff against the Cardinals is slated for 12 pm with Senior Day honors taking place before the game.
